Application Process

1. Apply to SWAU and the Nursing Program
   • If you have not previously applied to Southwestern
     Complete: Combined Southwestern / Nursing Application
   -- OR --
   • If you have previously applied to Southwestern
     Complete: Nursing Application
2. Print 3 reference forms and fill in your name and the name of the person who will be writing the reference for you (teacher, employer, supervisor, etc). Sign your name on either line A or B, waiving or not waiving your right to inspect the recommendation. Then give the form to the person who will be writing the reference, asking the person to complete the form and mail it to the Admissions Director in the Department of Nursing.

3. Have reference forms sent to:
   Director of Admissions
   SWAU Department of Nursing

4. Have all high-school and college/university transcripts sent to:
   Admissions Office
   Southwestern Adventist University
   Keene, TX 76059
5. Upon acceptance into the nursing program you will need to:
   1. File a $100 non-refundable deposit with the nursing department
   2. Submit copies of all required health records
   3. Submit proof of current CPR certification
   4. Submit report of background check
   5. Send a $39 check to the nursing department for a drug screen which will take place sometime during the 1st semester
