Admission Requirements

1. Meet all admission requirements for enrollment at Southwestern Adventist University
2. Have satisfactorily completed the following pre-requisite courses:
   1. BIOL 101, 102*
      Anatomy and Physiology I and II (8 semester credits with lab)
   2. BIOL 220*
      Microbiology (4 semester credits)
   3. CHEM 105*
      Survey of Chemistry (4 semester credits) or Chemistry Competency Placement Test
   4. ENGL 121
      Freshman Composition (3 semester credits)
   5. MATH 110*
      College Algebra (3 semester credits) or Math Competency Placement Test
   6. PSYC 212*
      General Psychology (3 semester credits)
3. In addition to the pre-requisite courses, 29 additional semester hours of required courses should be completed in order to finish the program in 4 years. See the Degree Plan for the Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing for required courses. **
4. Have a cumulative minimum college GPA of 2.75
5. Take the HESI Admission Assessment Exam
6. Have completed health records including a physical exam report, immunization record, and TB skin test or chest X-ray.
7. Have completed current CPR certification for Health Care Provider.
8. Have completed a background check.

* Completed with a grade of C or higher within 7 years of admission to the nursing program.

English and Math courses taken at an accredited community college prior to admission to the SWAU Nursing Program will transfer only with proof of proficiency.
